Gainsbrugh (1908-1977) joined the National Industrial Conference Board (later the Conference Board) in 1939 and was named its chief economist in 1943. He was senior vice president from 1967 until his retirement in 1973. Gainsbrugh was a proponent of the "National Dividend Plan," a proposal to redistribute corporate income taxes to individual voters. From the description of Papers, 1951-1978.
